Winterset, IA - Not your typical small town!

Birthplace of a Hollywood legend? Home of the last Madison County drive-able bridge? Minutes from one of the major stretch of interstate in the US? Winterset, IA has everything you are looking for in a destination!

Winterset, Iowa is much like many other small towns across the United States. It has so much to offer and can be over looked by the typical traveler. First and foremost this beautiful community is the birthplace of the late, great John Wayne. Winterset is home of the John Wayne Museum, and features his birthplace home. Huge events are celebrated each year in honor of this great man. The largest being his Birthday Celebration in May.

Although being the birthplace of John Wayne is quite a draw, Winterset also boasts the last covered bridge in Madision County that you can drive on. A total of six covered bridges remain in the county and they celebrate them each year at the Covered Bridge Festival.
After a long day of enjoying the many things that Winterset and the surrounding areas have to offer you can enjoy beautiful accommodations at the new Cobblestone Inn & Suites! At this hotel you will feel at home with microwaves, refrigerators, luxury linens, Wolfgang Puck Coffee, and flat-panel televisions in every guest room. We offer our guests the amenities and services they need with 24-hour Wolfgang Puck Coffee Service, Complimentary Hot Breakfast Buffet, Guest Laundry, 24-hour Onsite Convenience Store, Fitness Center, High Speed Wireless Internet Access, onsite Beer and Wine Bar, and so much more! At the Cobblestone Inn & Suites, you will receive “Big City Quality, Small Town Values…” each stay.

Many reason to stay in this "Main Street Community" - Waverly, Iowa!

One can say the community of Waverly, Iowa is the perfect size. Boasting big industry like Nestle, restaurants as far as the eye can see, festivals, and a downtown that carries the town's motto of "The Main Street Community" well.

With the small towns across this fine country comes a great deal of culture and Waverly, IA is busting at the seams with great things to do around every corner. From the huge abundance of antique shops, to festivals like Concert In Kohlmann, and the Waverly Art Walk you can experience great things year round in this wonderful little town!

This small community has all the fix-ins when it comes to food and beverage. Applebees, Taco Johns, McDonalds are a few of the many but if you are looking for local fare you will not be let down by the East Bremer Diner. Do not let the name fool you. Microbrewery beer, made to order pizzas, and an expansive menu full of "supper club" type meals will keep all in your family happy. My tip would be to try their "Cheese Frenchy".

After you have had your day of fun and belly is full, check in at the Cobblestone Inn and Suites in Waverly, IA. This beautiful downtown hotel offers a free hot breakfast buffet, large guest rooms, hot Wolf Gang Puck coffee 24/7, and warm fresh cookies at check-in.
